Different products exist to clean a Image-Sensor, but in almost all cases they just clean the Image-Sensor. Moreover this mostly happens in contaminated rooms with a bad influence on the durability of the effect. Self cleaning or professional cleaning?

Almost every room contains between 30.000 and 70.000 dust particles per cubic meter, of which most are not visible. These dust particles will easily attach to your digital camera Image-Sensor. One dust particle of 10 micron will easily cover 100 pixels. Your camera has 5 to 16 million pixels of which sometimes a lot are dirty. On the Image-Sensor, with a little enlargement of 10 x 15 centimetres, the dust particles are clearly visible. 

Of course you can clean your camera yourself, but there are three major risks involved:

• You can cause scratches due to hard dust
• There could get more instead of less dust on your Image-Sensor;
• You will sooner have a dirty Image-Sensor again;

Al these risks are due to the so called electrostatic fields (ES), originated from wrong friction, non appropriate clothing, and working under wrong conditions.
